Overview
Theorem Harness is a local-first workspace for assigning operational work to AI agents. Each thread retains its objective, context, tools, and execution state, allowing work to continue beyond an individual chat session.
The same runtime is available through the desktop application, a browser, or a headless process. Closing the desktop does not terminate work running on a persistent machine.
Architecture
Threads can execute against local files or run beside services and data on a remote machine. Remote environments run Harness headlessly, while Theorem Mesh provides private connectivity between authorized nodes.
Model providers are configured through a common provider interface rather than embedded as a fixed dependency. Search and other supporting services follow the same replaceable plugin model.
Installation
Until the npm distribution is published, Harness can be run from its source repository. Node.js 22.19 or newer and pnpm 11.7 are required.
